Semaglutide is a prescription medication, administered by injection, that can help manage weight. Originally developed to treat diabetes and improve high blood sugar, this drug’s active ingredient is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) that acts similarly to a naturally occurring hormone in our bodies that controls blood sugar. Semaglutide is also known by the brand names Wegovy®, Ozempic®, or Rybelsus®.
Program registration requires an initial visit and lab fee. For patients who are not currently using Semaglutide, the program consult & first injection is $195. Labwork is $95*

Injections are once a week, and will be prepared for you to take at home. This fee covers the cost of the medication, shipping and handling, physician monitoring and administrative fees.
Your weight, BMI, review of side effects, progress with diet and exercise compliance will be assessed weekly. In addition, every 4 weeks we will review how well you are moving towards the goals that you set at the beginning of the program.
You will receive the first injection in the office and will be taught how to perform your own injections to continue at home after the initial injection. You will be considered for a dose adjustment after every 4 injections (dosing cycle).

Semaglutide is prescription medication used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults. It belongs to the class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists and works by increasing insulin production and reducing glucose production by the liver. It is administered by injection and helps lower blood sugar levels, improve glycemic control, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in people with type 2 diabetes. It is important to note that Semaglutide should be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes diet, exercise, and other diabetes medications as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
Injections are administered weekly & given subcutaneously, targeting areas such as the abdomen, inner thighs, or upper arm.
The ideal candidate should have a BMI above 30 and be in overall stable health. It’s essential, however, to consult with a healthcare clinician to determine individual suitability and ensure there are no underlying health concerns that might contraindicate its use.
It’s important that you consider whether or not this type of a weight loss injection is right for you. Here are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to what is offered:
Like any medication, Semaglutide therapy may cause side effects. The following are potential side effects associated with these weight loss injections based on available clinical trial data:
Please let the nurse know if you have any of these side effects.
Although anyone who has been diagnosed as obese can receive a typical Semaglutide Therapy dose, regardless of age, ethnicity, or BMI, ideal candidates are overweight adults with a body mass index of 30 or higher and have tried to lose weight through diet and exercise but have been unsuccessful or those with a BMI of 27 or higher suffering from any of the following diseases:
Most patients can safely use Semaglutide Therapy when monitored by a qualified physician. However, if you have been diagnosed with any of the following conditions, there may be an increased risk of complications, and our we may suggest a safer avenue for weight loss:
Please Note: Semaglutide therapy should not be used in patients with a history of multiple endocrine neoplasia, medullary thyroid cancer, family history of medullary thyroid cancer, insulin-dependent diabetes, diabetes utilizing sulfonylureas or patients with history of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
If you have any of the above, you will not be eligible to start GLP-1 therapy and should not register for our program.
