Semaglutide is a prescription medication, administered by injection, that can help manage weight. Originally developed to treat diabetes and improve high blood sugar, this drug’s active ingredient is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) that acts similarly to a naturally occurring hormone in our bodies that controls blood sugar. Semaglutide is also known by the brand names Wegovy®, Ozempic®, or Rybelsus®.
GLP-1 Therapy is a once-per-week injectable prescription medication, along with our customizable treatment plans is a potential game-changer for individuals with type 2 diabetes and obesity. GLP-1 therapy is a weekly injection medication. It has been shown to provide better weight loss results than even Semaglutide. GLP-1 therapy is used for its potential in treating type 2 diabetes and aiding in weight loss. It belongs to a new class of dual incretin mimetics that act on both GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide) receptors. These receptors play crucial roles in regulating hunger, promoting feelings of fullness, and managing blood sugar levels. By targeting these receptors, the medication can help control blood sugar levels, reduce appetite, and potentially lead to weight loss. Preliminary studies have shown promising results, with patients experiencing significant weight reduction and better blood sugar management. As with all medications, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare provider to understand if it is an appropriate option for you.
Semaglutide is prescription medication used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults. It belongs to the class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists and works by increasing insulin production and reducing glucose production by the liver. It is administered by injection and helps lower blood sugar levels, improve glycemic control, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in people with type 2 diabetes. It is important to note that Semaglutide should be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes diet, exercise, and other diabetes medications as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
Injections are administered weekly & given subcutaneously, targeting areas such as the abdomen, inner thighs, or upper arm.
The ideal candidate should have a BMI above 30 and be in overall stable health. It’s essential, however, to consult with a healthcare clinician to determine individual suitability and ensure there are no underlying health concerns that might contraindicate its use.
There is no doubt that there are several advantages of GLP-1 therapy, and it’s important that you consider whether or not this type of a weight loss injection is right for you. Here are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to what is offered:

Most patients can safely use Semaglutide or GLP-1 Therapy when monitored by a qualified physician. However, if you have been diagnosed with any of the following conditions, there may be an increased risk of complications, and our we may suggest a safer avenue for weight loss:
Please Note: GLP-1 therapy should not be used in patients with a history of multiple endocrine neoplasia, medullary thyroid cancer, family history of medullary thyroid cancer, insulin-dependent diabetes, diabetes utilizing sulfonylureas or patients with history of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
If you have any of the above, you will not be eligible to start GLP-1 therapy and should not register for our program.
